Christmas Morning, December 2021.
The days of young children waking up on Christmas morning at 6 a.m. in my home are long gone now. The young adults and middle teenagers are home for the holiday and my heart is full. They sleep.
It’s remarkable to think I have time in the still of this Christmas morning to enjoy the quiet and the festive decorations around the home as I listen to some of my favorite music through my headphones. The December sun is just beginning to rise through the trees and the simple beauty of it all brings great hope and peace in ongoing turbulent times.
I had the opportunity to watch the 2006 version of The Nativity Story over the past week. It is such a well done movie, in my opinion, with one of my most favorite songs of the season, “Breath of Heaven” told from the perspective of Mary, featured on the movie soundtrack. I can listen over and over. I love it.
Talk about turbulent times in the world at the time of the birth of Christ.
Merry Christmas to all.

“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
