Winter Birthday

Simple supper.

It’s hard to believe this February birthday brings us very close to the one year mark of so much change in all of our lives. Last year was a landmark birthday of festive celebration; a Virginia wine country bus tour and a restaurant family gathering at a favorite spot. The pre-COVID memories of just one year ago almost feels like another life. What a difficult year it has been since that time.

This year’s quiet celebration with family at home could not have been more simple, peaceful, reflective and appreciated, with the delightful sounds of Ella Fitzgerald on vinyl.

“I didn’t know what year it was
Life was no prize.
I wanted love and here it was
Shining out of your eyes.

I’m wise,
And I know what time it is now.”
